Finance Major
Finance is an area of
business that deals with matters related to money and the markets. It
specifically relates to the
branch of economics concerned with
resource allocation as well as resource management, acquisition and
investment. Finance is also the ability to raise money through issuance
and sale of debt and/or equity.
In the College of
Business at Northern Arizona University they include three-different

-
Managerial finance professionals are responsible for raising capital,
without which no firm can survive, and allocating it to assets in a
profitable manner.
-
Investment professionals design
securities used by firms to raise capital and aid in selling these
securities to the investing public. They also analyze securities from
the investor's point of view and help investors build portfolios with
appropriate risk/return characteristics.

many critical business services including credit analyses and loans,
checking accounts, wire transfers, and credit card processing.
