Lesson 3
Create a minimum of two PowerPoint presentations including 10 or more slides each

1. Each group will create their first PowerPoint presentation
2. Each group will use the following procedures to begin creating their PowerPoint presentations § Click on the following URL http://www.metasearch.com/www2search.cgi?p=learn+powerpoint+2003+free&l=20&s=o · Delete "learn powerpoint 2003 free" from the search window · In the search window, type “kidz online” (without the quotes) · Click on the link "Free Technology Tutorials" § Click on the “PowerPoint” bullet found under Browse: Technology Units

3. Displaying on the web page should be “Microsoft PowerPoint” with a section titled "Introduction" with one tutorial and a section titled "Powerpoint Basics"
4. Each student in a group will select one of the five PowerPoint training tutorials, listen, take notes, review and share what they learned with the rest of the students.
5. At the bottom of the five PowerPoint training tutorials, there is an expand button. If you want, you can click the "expand" graphic and find "PowerPoint Advanced" features and use these in creating your presentation. However, this is not required.
6. This assignment will take two class periods (class periods equal 2 hours)
7. Using
collaboration, the group will decide the topic of their PowerPoint presentation
and begin
creating their first 10 slide presentation
8. To help you get started, I recommend you begin your PowerPoint presentation with the following:
· Start by creating your Title Slide
· Use at least 3 different Slide Layouts and one Design Template
· Save your presentation.
9. Each student in their group will assess each other using the following rubrics: (formative)
