My Hobbies

MUSIC

 I love music.  My time in and out of school is devoted to my musical talents.  At NAU, I am a trombone major in the music department.  My trombone studies enwraps my NAU experience as I rehearse with the various groups I'm apart of, and in my own individual practice.  There's nothing like making a career out of my hobby of playing the trombone.  In addition to playing the trombone, I play the acoustic and electric guitar.  I have been playing the guitar for many years now.  I have recently started to learn the mandolin and banjo.  I love the challenge of learning new ways of musical expression, involving musical instruments that sound very different from each other.  Listening to music and going to concerts is a big part of my life too.  I have seen many of my favorite groups including: Nickel Creek, Eric Johnson, Fleetwood Mac, The Eagles, Journey, and Eric Clapton.

HIKING

Hiking is one of my favorite outdoor activities.  I have hiked mountains such as Camelback Mountain, Four Peaks, and the peaks surrounding the Prescott Valley.  To me, it's a fun challenge that can be very physical and rewarding.  There's nothing like getting to the top of a mountain saying, "I made it!"  It's a good time to reflect any life issues that you are dealing with.  There's a lot of peace and serenity found in the outdoors, especially at the top of a mountain.
